Terms of service

Mad Mud Studios – Terms of Service

By purchasing products, booking classes, or participating in activities at Mad Mud Studios, you agree to the following Terms of Service:

1. All Sales Final

All purchases are final. No refunds, returns, or exchanges will be provided except where required by law.

2. Classes & Workshops

Class and event registrations are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend, please contact the studio as soon as possible. Any rescheduling or studio credit is solely at the discretion of Mad Mud Studios.

3. Handmade Products

All pottery is handmade and may contain natural variations in size, shape, glaze, color, and texture. These variations are part of the artistic process and are not defects.

4. Customer-Created Work

While every reasonable effort is made to protect customer work, clay and kiln-fired ceramics are inherently unpredictable. Cracking, warping, glaze defects, breakage, or kiln failures can occur despite proper procedures. Mad Mud Studios cannot guarantee successful results and is not responsible for damage or loss of customer-created items.

5. Abandoned Items

Finished projects should be picked up within 60 days of notification unless other arrangements have been made. Items left beyond that time may be discarded, donated, or otherwise disposed of at the studio's discretion.

6. Studio Conduct

Mad Mud Studios reserves the right to refuse service or remove any participant whose behavior is unsafe, disruptive, abusive, or creates an uncomfortable environment for staff or other guests.

7. Liability

Participation in pottery activities involves inherent risks, including the use of tools, equipment, and materials. Participants assume these risks and agree to follow all safety instructions provided by studio staff.

8. Pricing and Availability

Prices, class offerings, hours, and policies may change without notice.

9. Photography

Unless a customer requests otherwise in advance, Mad Mud Studios may photograph classes, events, and finished projects for promotional purposes.

10. Acceptance of Terms

By making a purchase, registering for a class, or participating in studio activities, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Terms of Service.

One clause I would strongly consider adding, given the nature of ceramics, is the kiln disclaimer in Section 4. It makes it explicit that even professionally managed firings can fail and that customers are accepting that inherent risk.
